What Is a Backyard Ultra?
Simple. Brutal. Honest.
Every hour, on the hour, every runner completes a 6.85km loop. When the hour ends, the next loop begins.
Between loops, eat, sit, drink, stretch and relax but you have to be at the starting line ready to run by the next hour!
You decide when you’re done, you cannot join back and continue. We all win —whether its a personal best, a physical challenge or a fun time with a great community.
This Is tough - mentally, physically and emotionally. Find how far you can push yourself. It’s not about speed, its about the mental stretch you hold within yourself.
You don't need to be fast. You need to keep showing up. Sound familiar?

Race Rules & Etiquette
Use common sense — keep right, pass left, don't block the path (especially running with a friend).
Be mindful of non-racers sharing the trails. Smiles and waves encouraged.
Leave no trace, please keep area clean
What to Bring
Tents, chairs, and any gear you need for a full day of adventure and comfort.
Your own hydration and nutrition — some snacks and drinks will be available, but come as self-sufficient as you can. (meals, water, electrolytes, snacks, anything to keep you going)
Weather-appropriate gear — rain or shine.
How It Works
Every hour on the hour, set out on a 6.85km loop of trail and gravel road — expect variety and scenery.
One aid station at the start/finish to refuel and recharge between loops.
The organizers are running too. To track who's still on course, every runner's name is posted at the start/finish.
Finishing early? Ring the bell, remove your name from the board and a volunteer will come with your medal
Don't make the 1-hour cutoff for the next loop? Ring the bell, remove your name from the board and a volunteer will come with your medal — your race is complete for the day.
Swag, Prizes & Surprises
Every completed loop earns a ballot for a prize draw — the more you run, the more chances you get.
All participants receive a hoodie, a finisher's medal, and some mystery goodies.
Run more than 42km and you earn official "Ultra" status, plus something special to mark it.
Your Pace, Your Race
Bring your grit, your best attitude, your sense of adventure, and your willingness to laugh, sweat, and persevere together.
